Olympiacos Break Greek Transfer Record With €16 Million Purchase of Gustavo Puerta

The most important change is no longer verbal agreement. It is movement. Olympiacos are receiving a high-level sporting asset temporarily while Forest retains the long-term appreciation.

If Olympiacos themselves have financially activated the clause, the economics become substantially different.

The official registration documents should finally settle that question. From a sporting standpoint, however, the significance is unchanged. Puerta is now extremely close to joining Mendilibar's midfield. His ability to combine physical dueling, progressive movement and ball security gives Olympiacos another midfielder capable of operating at European tempo rather than merely controlling possession.
